Group Programs

Every January and July school holidays, we run group program sessions that further enhance connections with other children of similar age, allowing your child to expand upon their emotional and social skills by providing opportunities to initiate, build upon and maintain friendships, negotiate, problem solve and work together to achieve their group program outcomes.

Our groups are categorised based on the needs and goals of our clients and families within our local communities. We observe and communicate with our families to change, adapt and provide the group program services that you are seeking. Our current group programs entail transition to school, social development, creative play through construction, pretend play and fine motor skills, community access and life skills, and cooking skills.
Our groups are designed to build social interactions and expand on skills in natural environments and supportive environments. This is done through repetition and exposure to everyday social interactions.

We are always building and growing our groups; any recommendations or ideas to continue to support our children are welcome.

Coaching For Parents and Caregivers

Do you ever feel like you don't have a deep understanding of what's going on with your child? Do you feel like you are at a loss and not sure what to do next?

Our therapists at Explore and Soar are trained in understanding all occupations and aspects in life, using their skills to identify the foundational concern, missing skill or the area currently impacting you and your child’s life. As a further commitment to supporting and expanding your child's development we suggest tailored parent coaching sessions.

These sessions are aimed at enhancing an in-depth understanding of the impacts your child is experiencing at a foundational level, identify strategies, ultimately teaching and liaising with you the parent, to implement these strategies and recommendations at a level that is best going to fit you and your family.

Professional Development for Teachers & Schools

Education plays a vital role in your child's development. It is teaching them how to achieve and sustain goals, activities and prepare them for their future. Many children have difficulties keeping up with the demands of their grade, and teachers often find it hard to provide the right strategies to support them.

At Explore and Soar we believe that your child’s teacher is someone we should work closely beside. We are able to support your child in the classroom and/or playground through individual teacher coaching sessions. Other therapy options can include one-on-one intervention and / or peer sessions at school following planning and liaising with both your child's teacher and the school.

Explore and Soar are passionate about working in our community and have developed strong networks within the education system. We consistently participate in expanding and educating teachers' ability to work alongside students through professional development afternoons.
