Make ‘n’ Create
Group 1 – 9th to 13th January 2023
Make ‘n’ Create was such a blast this year! Not only did all our children expand on their own creative thinking but they formed friendships which allowed them to work together as a team to create some amazing things. Our group got to make clay dinosaurs, monsters and animals, plaster making and decorating and sensory play with shaving cream, waterbeads and loads more.
But the real event for our ‘Make ‘n’ Create group was designing a life size marble run with our partners over the week! We built these marble runs together but sharing our own ideas, making a group plan and designing it was fabulous. Great communication, team work, flexible thinking, and different designs achieved. Our ‘Make ‘n’ Create groups favourite thing was being able to share our achievements with our friends, showing how the marble run worked, explaining how each team designed theirs’s and some even had some tricks! It was such a great week with our friends.
Group 2 – 16th to 20th January 2023
Our second week of January school holiday Make ‘n’ Create group program is where our friends excelled in creativity and teamwork.
With a focus on fine motor precision, make n create challenged our friends to work with their team mates to share ideas, negotiate, plan and create various craft projects. Our DIY marble run was a hit this week with both runs successfully getting the marble through, with some tricky obstacles in between. We even got to paint and decorate them to suit the themes each team chose including the earth, and a platypus motel.
One hot day, we got to have a surprise water fight and I can assure you we were all drenched! We also played shaving cream twister in teams, and as an extra challenge we attempted it as a whole group which was super fun and messy.
We cannot wait to see all our friends again soon!
